KELLY ANNE CASSUM
Kelly A. Cassum, 50, died peacefully on May 16th, 2019, at her home surrounded by her loved ones. Kelly passed after a long but fearless battle with cancer. She was born on July 23, 1968 in Bangor, Maine, the daughter of Reid H. Thurber and Margaret A. Thurber.
Kelly graduated from Bangor High School, class of 1986. After graduating high school, Kelly married her childhood sweetheart, Randy Cassum, at the age of 19. She then pursued an Associate’s Degree in dental hygiene, only to then further her education by earning her Bachelor’s Degree in dental hygiene through the University of Maine at Augusta (Bangor campus). Her love for learning motivated her to pursue her Master’s Degree in leadership at USM. She was in the process of completing it during her battle with cancer. Over the years, Kelly spent time working for many wonderful people and growing her skills as a hygienist. Kelly loved everyday she spent at work and was very fond of the connections she made with her patients and co-workers.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are her three daughters; Mikaela Cross and her husband Jordan; Skylar Bechtel and her husband Colin; her youngest daughter Miah Cassum; her father Reid Thurber; her three brothers David, Rusty and Michael; many nieces and nephews and other loved family members.
