Jane (Burns) Pierce, 91, passed away peacefully at her home on May 19, 2020. She was born October 8, 1928, in New Haven, CT, the daughter of William R. and Adrienne (Anthonis) Burns.
Jane was a librarian for 25 years for the Bangor Public Library and for Eastern Maine Medical Center for 7 years as a secretary in the library. She was a longtime member of the 1st Congregational Church of Brewer and served in many capacities and as a deacon. Jane was involved in her community and was a Housing Commissioner for the City of Brewer, volunteered at the Bangor Public Library, a Corporator of Phillips-Strickland, and volunteered for Eastern Maine Medical Center.
She is survived by her loving husband Clifford Pierce of Bangor; her children; Catherine Geren, Diane and husband Rev. James Scovil, Michele Slater, Daniel Pierce Jr. and wife Jennifer, Carol Hassard and partner Kathy Fogarty; stepson Roy Pierce and wife Evie; grandchildren, Matthew Geren and wife Debbie, Amy Geren, Lance Geren, Sean Scovil and wife Michele Hartford, Ryan Scovil, Suzanne Higginson and husband James, Daniel Slater and wife Karen, Joseph Bethony, Emma Bethony, Alex Pierce and Heather Pelland; great-grandchildren, Catherine, Samuella, Hannah, Noah, Sydney, Jack, Tate, Austin, William, Annika, Charlotte, Adam, Anthony, Rocco, Natalie, Mason, Eliana and Hannah; a great-great-grandchild Iris Merchant; father of her children, Daniel Pierce Sr. of Houlton; many nieces, nephews and friends including two very special friends Judy Leighton and Sarah Beal.
