First of all my deepest condolences to the family. I met Gene several years ago on the MT. Pleasant Road in Levant. Gene's bicycle had broken down and. I stopped to ask if he needed help or a ride home, as I had a truck and we immediately hit it off as a friendship. Over the last few years we visited off and on. I would stop and chat and he came over to get some wood I had offered to him. It's funny how you meet people and quickly develop a real friendship. My mom and I truly loved our visits with Gene. I looked forward to his Christmas card every winter. I liked Gene, he was a good friend who I will miss. The world was a better place with him in it. See you on the other side Gene. Gob bless

Our home burned down a few days after christmas when I was about7 years old, and gene being the young man who would become a great man handled it in his way. Woke us all up in early morning. Now if you dont know winters in maine, snow, and very cold. Well, little sister did not want to go out upstairs window.needless to say I did, with a nudge in my back. Cold, wet. But alive. He was an d always will be my hero..

Remembering Gene. I worked with him for years. I was very surprised to see he had passed. I knew I hadn't seen him go by for awhile. Gene was a very good hearted person. He would help anyone and everyone in any way he could. He will be missed by all that knew him. My sympathies to all the family. Linda
